We are all storytellers.
For those who follow Jesus, we have an opportunity to be an active participant as He writes our individual stories. We can either attempt to edit what He’s writing through our complaint or distrust or unbelief - trying to rewrite parts we don’t like. Or, we turn the page of each new chapter of life with anticipation that the Writer knows what He’s about and is crafting a story more profound and marvelous than we could ask for or imagine.
I am often tempted to put on my editor hat and mark up my story with a red pen, telling the Lord what I don't prefer in my story. But He continues to kindly remind me that He is the Writer and I can trust Him with the the setting, characters, plot twists, and the ending. A way for me to functionally trust my Author is by:
REMEMBERING the stories of His faithfulness in the Word and in my own dark valleys and the high mountaintops of the past
RECOUNTING the stories of God's generous provision both in the daily allotments of grace and His lavished gifts of provision
REJOICING in the stories that bring joy from the many opportunities to laugh in my day to day moments
I'm so excited to use this space to recount these stories with you. My hope is that after reading them, you're inspired to look at your own story with fresh eyes and marvel at His past faithfulness and His present goodness and share with others what the Lord has done for you!
